[Slytherins]
I just wanted to let all of you know-
With everything that's happened
My mother's not in any state to look after me or herself
My father and grandfather were both arrested. I don't think I'm ever going to see them again. Mother says that if they take me too then she's going to throw herself off of the roof
Anyway, I wanted to let all of you know that I'm going back to France. To stay with my mother's cousins. I think it's for the best really.

I owe all of you an apology for being remiss in my prefectly duties, at least as far as these journals are concerned. Especially with everything happening with Ligeia. If I'd been more firm with her I was spending too much time reading this thing and falling behind in my studies.
It's hard to see someone I once considered such a dear friend going down this awful path. I'd really hoped that she'd come to her senses but it seems she really is a lost cause now. I just don't understand what could compel her to try and be friends with those people. Especially since they don't even seem to like her very much. And she fancies Sloper enough to turn on her real friends but she's been intimate with Dexter Quince? I feel like I don't even know her anymore.
Anyway, that isn't what I meant to write about. I suppose I just needed to get it off my chest.
The real reason I'm writing is because my grandfather gave me permission to have a small gathering at the house this week and I was thinking it might be nice to invite everyone over Thursday afternoon? It won't be anything fancy, just tea and snacks for whoever can make it. Tracey and Millicent, I'm sure if you tell the Carrows where you're going and that my grandfather will be home, they'll let you come too. Please let me know if you'll be able to make it so I know how many to expect.

I tried to apologize for upsetting her and she just got angry at me and then I got angry and then she started crying and I apologized again but she's still mad at me and I hate this. I don't understand why she won't stop being mad at me. This is all so stupid.

Pansy, I thought I should tell you, there may be some sort of issue with Ligeia. Theodore mentioned that the two of you are concerned over a possible leak in the IS and I'm worried it might be her. She and I were having a polite disagreement over what happened with Sloper and Cresswell and she became very defensive of Sloper. In a way that was not at all normal. She seemed really upset that Sloper was hurt and now she isn't speaking to me because I think Sloper and Cresswell got what was coming to them.
I hate to say it, but after speaking with her today, I could see her revealing things to Sloper to try and protect him. It's possible that it's nothing more than her being tired or stressed, but I thought you should know, just in case.

Do either of you know... is there something going on with Ligeia? She and I were talking and she got really defensive of Sloper. And then I told her I didn't think Theodore deserved detention for what happened and she completely flipped out at me. She swore at me and told me not to talk to her.

If you're keeping a tally, you can add Ligeia to the IS members who think you deserve detention. Or possibly more, in her case. I don't know what's wrong with her, but she was being really defensive of Sloper and when I defended you, she completely flipped out at me. It was really unnerving.

OOC: The picture is magical so the cruppie just keeps chasing the ball around and pouncing on it every minute or so.
Professor Carrow was generous enough to let me keep Sophie and now I can't stop taking pictures of her! Every time I look at her she's doing something even cuter than before. Although I think I need to find some toys that are more her size.

We have a new addition to the common room! I was really worried something might happen to her before we were done with the crup lessons but Professor Carrow let me pick her up this afternoon. I'm so pleased he said yes.
I wonder what we're moving on to next.

Since apparently the only purpose of these things is to whine about everything we hate, I might as well join in. Muggle books are stupid. This ridiculous girl was told that she shouldn't travel in time back to the 1300s because it is disease ridden and it smells terrible and everyone dies by 30 but she wouldn't listen to her professors so she ends up in the midst of some disgusting plague. I hope she dies. It would serve her right for being so pig headed and not listening to the advice of her betters. And I still don't know what a Dooms Day Book is.
But even though I don't like the assignment and I've got better things to do, I'm still going to do it. Because there isn't any point in protesting an assignment just because you don't like it.
